Silicone, Saline, Poison... Lets stick with Silicone, but drop the E...

So recently in Chemistry I, which I have to admit isn't my favorite class, but hey I'll live, we have started a project. This project specifies that we have to pick an element- from a list of already approved elements- and research them, then make an "advertisement" of our element. Being inspired by "Dance In The Dark", a song by Gaga, those stupid silly bands, and the Hollywood tabloids exploiting stars who have gotten silicone implants, chose to research the element Silicon. Below are some interesting facts about it. I hope you learn something.

Symbol- Si
Atomic Number-14
Atomic Mass-28.0855
# of Protons-14
# of Neutrons-14
# of Electrons-14
........................... Wow! Isn't that just amazing!!!! Not to me.................................
Melting Point-1410.0*C
Boiling Point-3265.0*C
Normal Phase-Solid
Cost- $273 for 99.9999% pure Si
Classification-Metalloid
Family-Metalloid
Origin of Name-Latin word "Silex" meaning flint
Discovered by-Antoine Lavoisier in 1787

Okay now here is the cooler stuff, not all the boring sciencey crap.. laugh, you know it's funny.
-Silicon, like water, expands as it freezes!!
-It is used in everything from "silly bandz" to concrete and bricks
-Silicon is the 2nd most abundant element in Earths crust
-Most isotopes of Silicn are radioactive
-Silion is never found in its pure form
-the most common compound isSilicone, which is used in the braclet-making indusrty, prosthetic body part-making industry, and is also used to create a wide variety of day-to-day items

And here are some really boring and crappy pictures of Silicon....
PRETTY!

SHINY!
